Yes. Caregivers can drive their vehicle or the client’s vehicle.
Where do you provide services?
Our office provides services in the Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford County, Howard County, and Anne Arundel County.
Are your caregivers insured and bonded?
Yes. Every caregiver is a Touching Lives With Hands LLC employee. To help ensure the safety and well being of our clients, we perform a criminal background check and also cover each caregiver with general liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
Will I have a choice of who comes to my home?
Yes. We encourage your involvement in the decision-making process. You can rest assured knowing that we will do our best to match the right caregiver to you and your family. However, we always try to accommodate any requests you may have for a change in caregivers.
Will my family member always receive care from the same caregiver?
Our goal is to establish a long-term caregiving relationship and experience. We understand that a strong rapport and trust with a caregiver is essential to a successful home care experience. If your loved one receives care for many hours in a day or at different times of the day throughout the week, it may be necessary to schedule more than one caregiver in a given week.
Can Touching Lives With Hands help with medications?
Our staff can administer medications, assist with self-administration of medications, and assist in reminding clients to take their medications. We will also document and report any side effects and/or adverse reactions.
Can I change or discontinue the services my loved one receives?
You can change the number or type of service we provide your loved one whenever it’s necessary. We understand the care situation can change quickly, so we’re as flexible as possible with your loved one’s care. There are no long-term contracts. You can discontinue your relationship with Touching Lives With Hands LLC at your discretion.
How can I verify a shift was completed?
Touching Lives With Hands use several tools to track our caregivers. We use time tracking systems and care logs that are completed by each caregiver. We also use an internet based system to verify care documented and caregiver’s time and attendance. That allows for written record of services along with access to a family center where you would have access to view when care is provided. Our itemized invoices are always sent after services are complete for each billing cycle.
Do I need a physician’s authorization for your services?
For Non-Medical Services you don’t need pre-authorization, pre-qualification, certification or even a prescription for Touching Lives With Hands LLC. You choose the services you want, when to start those services and how often those services are used. If you request assistance with billing a private insurance policy such as long-term care insurance for our services, we’re happy to help. We’ll provide any documentation you need for reimbursement by an insurance carrier.
What are the costs of your home care services?
After an initial assessment in the environment where care will be provided, we will present you with a Service/Care Plan that will list the services needed and desired and the exact cost. Factors that help to determine the exact cost are number of hours of care per week and level of home care services received. Our home care services are typically billed on an hourly basis. We always provide a written rate sheet prior to initiating services. Rates will never be increased without at least thirty days notice.
Are home care services covered by insurance or Medicare?
Medicare does provide an Eligibility Tool to see if your family qualifies, but they typically don’t pay for the type of hourly personal care service that Touching Lives With Hands LLC provides. Touching Lives With Hands LLC can provide documentation to third parties such as long-term care insurance companies that could help you obtain the best coverage possible.
Do I pay caregiver directly?
No. You or the authorized representative are only invoiced after the completion of services. You never have to pay caregivers directly. Also, you’ll never be asked to pay additional fee to an employee.
How is the privacy of my personal information maintained?
We adhere to all applicable federal and state guidelines related to privacy of personal and healthcare information. The written service agreement stipulates the exact restrictions on the use of your information, which clarifies that unauthorized individuals will not be given access to information without client’s or legally authorized representatives formal consent. Your information is never sold to a third party under any circumstances.
