Certified Medicine Aide needed for direct support caregiver opportunities to provide in-home skilled care for sick, disabled, dependent and elderly clients. Caregiver will provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). Caregiver will perform in-home skilled care according to the scope indicated on the Care Plan developed by the Registered Nurse. The CMA will report directly to the agency Supervising Nurse.
Essential Functions Includes:
- Carries out duties indicated on Care Plan
- Assists client with activities of daily living (ADLs): Bathing, changing bed linens, toileting, dressing/assisting with dressing, shampooing, feeding, shaving, mouth and denture care
- Maintain clean and comfortable environment: changing bed linens, client’s laundry, and preparation/planning of meals
- Range of motion, ambulation and transfer activities specified on Care Plan
- Vital signs on every visit
- Monitoring food & fluid intake
- Basic skin care, wound care, catheter care, and ostomy care
- Light housekeeping duties of client’s immediate area
- Maintains safe environment through use of bed rails, safety devices and proper placement of equipment
- Companion Care (Incidental Transportation / Accompanying to appointments & social activities, conversation & stimulating activities, shopping or run errands if needed)
- Reports any changes in the client’s mental or physical condition or any problems encountered while caring for the client in the home and records findings on the appropriate visit note
- Submit documentation of client’s care according to agency policies and procedures
- Organize work to meet client’s needs
- Listen actively to client and family members when expressing feelings and concerns
- Reinforces nurse instructions to client and family
- Assistance with self administration of medications or administration of medications or other remedies when order by a physician, assists with medication reminders
Qualifications/Requirements:
- CNA with Medicine Aide certification in the State of Maryland
- Current CPR -BLS for healthcare providers
- Current Immunization records (TB/PPD, MMR, Varicella, HBV)
- Successful completion of a skills competency evaluation & exam
- At least one year nursing home, hospital, or home care related experience (preferred)
- Great Communication skills and able to work independently
- Valid driver’s license and insured personal vehicle
- Cleaning driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Outstanding communication, time management, and interpersonal skills

- Solid computer skills, prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Ability to travel to cases as assigned
- Must be able to pass both a criminal background check and drug screening
Job Type: Per-Diem
License: CNA with Medicine Aide Certification (required), Valid Driver’s License (preferred)
Schedule: Available Mon-Fri, Weekends
